Diane’s songs are a partnership between indie pop and coffeehouse folk, with her uniquely sweet vocals breathing alongside acoustic guitars, pianos and unique arrangements.
“I grew up around music … and just had a love for it that is inexplicable.” –Diane Altomare
Diane Altomare is an accomplished singer, songwriter, musician, and producer whose extensive knowledge of and passion for music spans decades.
Growing up in a suburb of Chicago, Di discovered music at the tender age of five when she began playing piano. Seven years later found her traveling the world as a member of various jazz, symphonic, and marching bands, performing on the flute, percussion, drums, xylophones, and keyboards.
After moving to Los Angeles to study songwriting, she traded her band experience for a solo career, playing Southern California venues with only a guitar, keyboard, microphone, and amp in hand.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting from the University of South Carolina and a Specialist Certificate in Music Production from Boston’s Berklee School of Music. She studied voice with Gloria Bennett (Axl Rose, Vince Neil, Anthony Kiedis) and has worked alongside star producers Frank D. Wright (Chicago and Kansas) and Dino Maddalone (Record Producer of the year- 2008).
Di counts Kasey Chambers, Alanis Morrisette, Alicia Keys and Sarah McLachlan among her musical influences.
"Diane’s lyrics are consistently profound and from the heart. They will touch you."
